Seaside Resorts: The Best of Portugal

Portugal Seaside Resorts are plentiful. Depending upon the type and area desired, guests may find a number of resorts available. Coastal towns in Portugal are known for fishing, trade, yachting and tourism. People travel from all over the world to experience the Portuguese lifestyle.

Cascais was a former fishing village that has transformed into a beautiful location for tourism. There are beautiful villas located along the beach and in the town. The European aristocracy often used the seaside resort of Cascais in historical times. Currently, Cascais attracts people who enjoy yachting and sailing. Tourists travel from Lisbon and other locations to relax and enjoy the beautiful country.

The Mediterranean climate and the food are remarkable in many of the seaside resorts. Guests enjoy culinary delights such as frango no churrasco (roasted chicken) , caldeirada, arroz de marisco (Seafood Paella), cozido á portuguesa, sangria and wine. Santini Ice Cream Parlour is one of the best in Portugal.  The calm seas and pristine white beaches beckon guests to enjoy the beautiful area and resort community.

Seaside resorts near Guincho are also popular. Guincho beaches have excellent surfing and windsurfing conditions. Not too far away are some fairly challenging golf courses for those that enjoy combining their outdoor relaxation experience with a sport. Serra de Sintra is a UNESCO World Heritage site that is known for its unique architectural structures and impeccable landscaping. The Boca do Inferno is also an impressive site where the sea collides with the rocks and the water shoots into the air. Estoril is another coastal Portugal town that has many resorts that tourists may enjoy. Europe’s largest casino is located in Estoril.     Thank you for you’re comment. Yes, I think Portugal will be the next travel destination.
    If you like good food, great weather and first of all nice people, then this is the place to be.

    Portugal is one of the warmest European countries. In mainland Portugal, yearly temperature averages are about 15°C (55°F) in the north and 18°C (64°F) in the south. Madeira and Azores have a narrower temperature range as expected given their insularity, with the former having low precipitation in most of the archipelago and the latter being wet and rainy.   2. My husband has an aunt and uncle with a nice holiday apartment in the Algarve. We haven’t been there so far but maybe we should put that trip on the calendar this year.
