It is the heart and soul of Albufeira, retaining the qualities of this lovely town that have made it so beloved over the years by many. Walk the cobblestone lanes that wind their way through quaint neighborhoods, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere.

The central square in Old Town is picturesque, tastefully landscaped with trees and flowering shrubs, offering a relaxing respite for a lazy afternoon. The open air cafes not only serve delicious food but also offer a chance to soak up some local culture and do a bit of people watching.

Shopping is abundant in Old Town with a variety of specialty shops and street vendors offering a great selection of items ranging from souvenirs to hand crafted leather goods to boutique clothing and more. Old Town offers a lively night time scene as well with many bars open until nearly daylight during the summer months.

Commonly a starting and ending point for a day of sightseeing, diving, boating and fishing trips, the Albufeira Marina also offers wonderful shopping and dining options and some lovely local color, literally. In this part of town, all of the buildings are painted in beautiful pastel green, blue, orange, yellow and pink. It’s very festive and surprisingly, soothing and just one of the things that makes Albufeira unique.
